Hello,
Welcome and thank you for taking your online CE class with me. This is the new way of taking CE. I hope you enjoy it!
Now I need your help, please send me a copy of your pocket card and mailing address. The Commission requires me to see your card, and getting it now will speed up starting at 9 AM on class day, and getting it over by 1 PM. You can email or text a copy to,
828-778-8551.
I’ll email you a link to your registration email. This gives you access to the Zoom platform for the class. Just click on the link, and it’ll take you to the class live. The links are emailed out the day before each class about 7 PM. Sending it at this time helps prevent them from being mixed up with other emails when it is time to start the class. If you don’t receive it, please give me a call, and we’ll have sufficient time to resolve this before class.
You’ll receive a pdf for the class materials at your registration email. The pdf can be downloaded to another device so you can read it while taking the class on another device. Alternatively, you can print it, but you must have the material available in class.
The class requires you to have a device with a camera, microphone and good internet connection. Cell phones are not recommended. You’ll need to find a quiet place where you won’t have any interruptions.
You must be in the class for 90% of the time, ie, out of class no more than 20 minutes total. No reading books, magazines, newspapers, do bookwork. etc.; it is still a classroom. Please don’t be moving around during class as other students can see you during the class too. We’ll be taking two 15 minute breaks, first at 10:15 and last one at 11:45.
Your certificate will be mailed to you at the address you provide. The class roster will be sent to the Commission electronically so you won’t have to send a copy of your certificate to them. You should check your CE record after the class on the Commission website within 7-10 days to verify the class was recorded. Please let me know if it isn’t.
I look forward to see you in class about 8:50 on the day of your class.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Thanks, John
