About John Carroll

John Carroll has served North Carolina as an educator and real estate broker. Following his graduation from the University of Kentucky in 1967, Mr. Carroll pursued the teaching profession in Atlanta, Georgia and then Asheville, North Carolina. In 1976, after serving as an administrator in the Buncombe County School System, Mr. Carroll became a full time real estate broker. He has continued in this career to the present. Bringing knowledge and training from both careers, in 1994 he became a continuing education instructor. In 2003 Mr. Carroll was approved as a pre and post licensing instructor by the North Carolina Real Estate Commission.

John Carroll, as an active member of the Ashville community for over 40 years, has been an integral part of many organizations. He was elected to two terms as a member of the Buncombe County Board of Education. He served twenty-five years on the board of Thoms Hospital/CarePartners of which he also served as chairman for three years. He was also the chairman of the CarePartners Foundation. Mr. Carroll has held leadership positions with the Buncombe County Schools Foundation, the Asheville Civitan Club, the Council of Independent Business Owners (CIBO), the Asheville YMCA, and the Asheville Board of REALTORS. He also served all of North Carolina real estate brokers as president of the North Carolina Association of REALTORS and the North Carolina Real Estate Educators Association.

John Carroll has been the recipient of many state and community awards. Among them are the Small Business Leader of the Year Award, presented by the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, Realtor of the year presented by the Asheville Board of REALTORS, and the North Carolina Realtor of the Year. He also holds the honor of belonging to the North Carolina Realtor Hall of Fame.
